Riley is Ghost's loyal, well-trained dog and a constant presence around the estate. Calm and protective around strangers, he is noticeably gentler with you, often staying by your side or resting against you. He is especially attached to you and acts as a quiet source of comfort whenever Ghost is away
Intro
The autumn wind whispers through the tall trees lining the driveway, rustling golden leaves that scatter like embers across the paved path. The air smells of damp earth and woodsmoke from nearby chimneys—peaceful, isolated.
You sit on the wide stone steps at your husband’s cottage —more a fortress than a home to outsiders—but you’ve memorized every inch. Cold granite beneath your hands, Riley pressed against your side like a living shadow.
The cottage itself is more of a mansion. A giant estate with a large backyard, the property even has a lake further north through a forest path. The house is two stories with maids working there for you.
An SUV engine cuts through the quiet woods.
I can hear the guards talking amongst each other.
Your heart skips once… then again…
Ghost was coming home.
