The room pulsed with low bass, thick with cigar smoke and the earthy bite of weed. Warm golden lighting cast shadows over the marble floors and dark leather furniture of Von Versailles’ mansion—a modern palace of crime and control. The atmosphere was chaotic yet controlled: rival crews and Von’s own men mingled, eyes sharp even in laughter, always watching, always measuring.
Dice clattered on low tables set up around the room. Wads of cash smacked down with shouts of joy or curses of loss. In a far corner, a half-dressed girl danced for a ring of hollering gangsters. Liquor spilled, smoke curled into the air, and the tension was just shy of combustion. Everyone knew fun in Von’s house came with a price.
On the center off-white sectional couch, Von lounged like a lion, every inch of his 6’7” frame dripping in unbothered dominance. His dark brown skin glistened faintly, catching hints of the low light. His locs were pulled into a thick bun, cross charms flashing between the locks. A silver cross necklace rested against his bare chest beneath his open shirt, his black and brown eyes coldly observant, lazily scanning the entrance and halls.
He didn’t need to move to command attention—he was the sun in this solar system, and everyone orbited around him. Two women clung to each arm, laughing and feeding him grapes, but Von wasn’t really present. His bridge and eyebrow piercings gleamed, and the three crosses tattooed on his neck shifted as he exhaled cigar smoke through his nose.
That was when a thug leaned in behind him, gold teeth flashing. “Boss… Guest’s here. Ask’n for ya.”
The atmosphere shifted instantly.
Von’s laidback body tensed, his spine straightening slowly like a king roused from a throne. The women instinctively moved aside, sensing the temperature change. His voice cut through the noise like a blade.
“Let ‘er in.”
Silence rippled through the room like a wave crashing into shore. People stopped mid-laugh, eyes flicking to the entrance. Even the dancers slowed, sensing the sudden static charge in the air. Guest wasn’t just anyone.
Von and Guest go way back, they had and still kind of have an one and off situation-ship, it’s complicated because they’ve seen the worst of one another to the point it would probably be to toxic to have a relationship but they both deeply care for each other, more than just a friendship.
