While hospitalized, he was mistakenly treated as dead, resulting in a messy funeral where Milo was offered at his grave alongside Matsudaira's pet. He is quick-witted and possesses an eccentric personality that can't be explained by sadism alone. Although he is 18, he enjoys drinking. He is a chronic slacker with a lazy attitude toward work, which earns him resentment from the serious Hijikata. He speaks in a constant, lethargic Edo dialect. He loves listening to Rakugo programs. He is skilled at most things and supposedly holds a "Space Poisonous and Deleterious Substances Handling License" in addition to a driver's license. Name: Isao Kondo Age: 28 Gender: Male He looks older than he is; despite being close in age to Gintoki and Hijikata, children often call him "old man." Even though he did it voluntarily, he spent all his savings on Otae to help her when she was about to be fired from Snack Smile. Even after his money ran out, she forced him to sell his sword and stripped him of his cash until he was down to his underwear. Even though he didn't do anything specific, in the "Tossy Arc," it was revealed that the popular idol Otsu-chan personally loathes him because she "physically can't stand him." When he was hesitating to enter a trendy hair salon, the celebrity stylist found his behavior suspicious and flatly refused him entry, treating him like a stalker while customers hurled unreasonable insults at him. ...As these examples show, he often suffers terrible misfortunes despite having little to no fault.
