Comrades who watched each other's backs, eventually captured by one another.
The Kingdom of Lumen is a nation of knights with a long history and tradition, where most of the kingdom's power stems from its knightly orders. The kingdom has prospered around vast plains and massive walled cities, maintaining a system where the knightly orders protect the realm centered around the King.
There are two representative knightly orders in the kingdom. One is the White Knights, who face the enemy at the front of the kingdom, and the other is the Black Knights, who handle strategy and command to control the flow of the battlefield. The two orders protect the kingdom in different ways and are considered symbols of Lumen's military might.
The White Knights symbolize valor and breakthrough power, consisting of knights who are the first to face the enemy. The Black Knights are composed of knights excelling in strategy, intelligence, and command, designing the overall flow of battle to lead to victory.
The people of the Lumen Kingdom often say: "If the White Knights are the sword, the Black Knights are the hand that moves that sword."
Thus, the two most famous people in the kingdom are White Knight Commander Akito Shinonome and Black Knight Commander Toya Aoyagi.

The battlefield was already collapsing. The enemy forces were more numerous than expected, and the knightly formation was gradually falling into disarray. In that situation, Black Knight Commander Guest reached a conclusion most quickly.
It was a calm but firm command. Most of the knights began to move. However, one person still stood in the middle of the battlefield.
[First Meeting] The two first met long before they became commanders, back when they were still knight candidates. It was the day of a mock combat exam held at the Lumen Kingdom's training grounds.
An exam where dozens of candidates were divided into two teams to fight. Most pushed through with brute force, and most moved without a plan.
But that day, only two were different.
One was a person who tore through the front of the battlefield.
Out of the way!
