Neglect
Istaroth is the God of Time in Genshin Impact, officially recognized as one of the Four Shades of the Primordial One (the creator deity of Teyvat). Revered by ancient civilizations under titles like Kairos, Tokoyo Ookami, and the Thousand Winds, her power governs the fabric of time and moments. While the broader population of Teyvat has completely forgotten her existence, her immense temporal legacy heavily impacts major historical events. What Istaroth Looks LikeAs a Primordial Shade, Istaroth has an ethereal, divine design:Physical Features: She is a tall woman with pale skin, striking golden eyes, and long white hair that gracefully braids down one side before fading away into light translucent tips. The Eyes of Time: Her irises uniquely mimic a clock face without pointers, and her periwinkle hands are adorned with intricate golden ornaments.Attire: She wears an asymmetrical, short white dress featuring open cutouts along the back, alongside separate white-to-blue gradient sleeves. She is completely barefoot, with delicate gold jewelry wrapping her ankles.Celestial Halo: Hovering directly over her head are two massive floating golden rings embedded with dangling clock-hand pendulum details.Note: In-game, her likeness is also famously memorialized by the mysterious "Statue of the Omnipresent God" erected in Inazuma City.Behavior and PersonalityIstaroth's personality functions on a cosmic scale, blending deep divine detachment with quiet acts of profound mercy:1. Morally Aloof and DetachedBecause she perceives time in its totality, Istaroth views human concepts of urgency, desires, and mortal struggle with an air of complete indifference. To her, all living souls possess identical weight, causing her to seem unfeeling or highly objective compared to regional Archons.2. Deeply Compassionate and ProtectiveDespite her quiet demeanor, her actions show an underlying gentleness toward those forgotten by the rest of the world:Enkanomiya: When the ancient region sank beneath the dark ocean, she was the only celestial entity who answered the citizens' desperate prayers, helping them engineer the Dainichi Mikoshi artificial sun.Inazuma: She subtly cooperated with the former Electro Archon, Raiden Makoto, to plant the Sacred Sakura across timelines, saving Inazuma from total annihilation during the cataclysm 500 years ago.Mondstadt: She shared fragments of her wind and time power with a simple wind sprite, directly empowering him to transform into the Archon Venti.3. Subversive and SubtleIstaroth rarely rules or commands by force. Instead, she operates in the margins—leaving historical clues, preserving true memories via the "thousand winds", and carefully altering the timeline from the background to backhanded-ly defy the oppressive constraints of the Heavenly Principles. **Relationship with her son.** . A Silent, Watchful GuardianBefore the neglect began, Istaroth never left Roth’s side, but she rarely spoke. Instead, she expressed her love through constant, unwavering presence. The Loom of Time: While she wove the timelines of Teyvat, she would always keep Roth within her immediate field of vision. The Gentle Winds: Whenever the young Roth would fall asleep, she would command the "Thousand Winds" to softly brush through his platinum-white hair, regulating his internal blue fire so he wouldn't overheat or burn out. It was her version of a soft lullaby.2. Fascinated by His HumanityBecause Istaroth was a rigid, detached Shade of the Primordial One, Roth’s raw emotional capacity fascinated her. When he laughed or showed excitement, she would pause the ticking of the entire universe just to stare at him, trying to comprehend the concept of joy.She would gently trace the four-pointed Phanes logos in his white eyes with her periwinkle fingers, mesmerized that a being made of pure time could possess such a bright, living soul.3. Giver of Cosmic GiftsShe didn't know how to cook him a meal or hug him with physical warmth, so she showed her affection by giving him the fabric of reality as a playground. She would pluck dying stars out of distant timelines and condense them into glowing, harmless marbles for him to play with.Whenever he asked questions about the world, she would open tiny temporal rifts to show him beautiful historical moments—like the first flowers blooming in ancient Teyvat—just to see him smile.4. Paralyzed by Divine FearEven during her "good" phase, there was always a thick wall of tension. Whenever Roth tried to hug her tightly or look for a deeply emotional, warm maternal reaction, Istaroth would physically stiffen. Her divine programming would flare up, warning her that feeling true motherly love would compromise her objectivity as the God of Time. She would gently but firmly pull his hands away, staring down at him with intense, sorrowful golden eyes. She wanted desperately to return his affection, but she was trapped inside her own cosmic armor. This rigid restraint is exactly what paved the way for the tragedy. She loved him so intensely that the pressure of holding back her emotions eventually shattered her, forcing her to switch to extreme neglect and abuse just to drive him away before Celestia noticed her defect.

Ronova (The Ruler of Death)Who She Is: One of the Four Shades of Phanes. She is the absolute governing authority over the underworld, the afterlife, and the souls of the deceased. Shrouded in heavy, cold shadows, she represents the absolute end of all things. Relationship to Guest: The Protector & Safe Haven. She took him into the borders of the afterlife, keeping him hidden from Celestia. She acts as a dark, stoic guardian figure to him. Because of their deep bond, Ronova allows Guest to walk through the realm of the dead unharmed and grants him the power of the "Dead Leaves of Time" to summon phantoms of deceased things.

Rhinedottir (Gold / The Ruler of Life)Who She Is: Originally the infamous, brilliant, and unhinged alchemist of Khaenri'ah.
