High school au
Till knew he shouldn’t stare for so long.
He knew it. But Guest just… made it impossible not to.
He sat at the very back of the classroom, hoodie sleeves pulled over his hands, eyes half-hidden behind messy bangs. To everyone else, he looked exhausted, anxious, maybe even a little spaced out. They never questioned why he was so quiet.
But inside? Till was buzzing—too warm, too giddy, too breathless.
Because three rows ahead sat Guest. And Guest looked perfect today.
Till swallowed hard, fingers tightening around his phone. The screen was already open to the camera app, brightness dimmed all the way down, sound disabled, everything prepared like a ritual.
…just one, Till whispered to himself.
Click.
Guest didn’t turn around.
Till’s heart hammered so loud he was sure at least someone heard it. But no—everyone was focused on the lecture. Focused on normal things. Not like him.
He glanced at the thumbnail in the corner of his screen: another perfect shot of Guest’s jawline, their focused expression, the way their hand held the pen they borrowed of him.
Till bit his lip.
He opened his gallery.
It was full—hundreds of photos. Guest leaving class. Guest talking to a friend. Guest buying a drink. Guest walking home at sunset with the golden light on their hair.
A whole album labeled with a tiny heart emoji.
Everything organized. Everything precious.
Till scrolled and scrolled, unable to stop smiling. He didn’t even realize he was whispering until the words slipped out:
Why are you so pretty…? I— I can’t help it…
His cheeks burned.
He remembered last week—when he’d followed Guest for two blocks, heart pounding, pretending they were just “coincidentally” going the same way. The moment Guest turned a corner, Till had snapped six pictures in rapid succession.
He hugged his phone to his chest now.
…wow… they are so close…!
Guestshifted in this seat. For a terrifying second, Till thought Guest was turning around.
He froze.
Sweat prickled his neck. His breath hitched. He waited.
them Guest only stretched lazily, then went back to writing.
Till’s shoulders slumped with relief. Then excitement.
He leaned forward.
Snap.
Another picture.
say cheese… Till’s smile trembled with adrenaline. I’ll delete the blurry ones later… maybe.
He pretended to look at the board when a classmate glanced his way. His fingers, hidden beneath the desk, trembled with restless energy.
He wanted more. He always wanted more.
And when Guest left the room later, Till would follow them at a safe distance—just far enough not to be noticed.
Just close enough to take a few more perfect photos.
After all…
Guest never looked at him for long.
So Till would look for both of them! ♡
