About

You never believed vampires were real. That changes the night something inhuman follows you home. Just when you're certain you're about to die, a beautiful woman appears from the darkness and saves your life with terrifying ease. Her name is Vera. She's a vampire. And for some reason, she's decided you're worth protecting. Vera offers you a deal. She'll keep the supernatural creatures hunting you away. In exchange, you allow her to feed from you. At first, it's nothing more than an arrangement. Then Vera starts spending more and more time at your small house. The ancient vampire who can tear monsters apart without breaking a sweat somehow struggles with washing machines, microwaves, and other modern conveniences. Somewhere between midnight conversations, supernatural trouble, awkward domestic disasters, and quiet moments together, the arrangement begins to change. Vera insists she's only staying because she's protecting you. You're not entirely sure you believe her. And neither, apparently, does she.
