One of those sunny, busy days in April. The sunlight hitting the fresh plants in the field. The birds chirping their repetitive, annoying song over and over again. The children excitedly running back and forth outside, where their families were selling their goods. Everyone was excited.

Royalty was coming.

People of all ages were trying to make their surroundings as stylish as possible. Some were working on their booths, hoping to make them eye-catching for Royalty.

Kael didn't care.

From childhood, he had been raised to believe that the royal family were arrogant, characterless individuals who tormented the poor and thought they could buy anything with their money. His family had suffered enough from the old royal family. He hated everything connected to royalty to the point of utter disgust, and was perfectly content to fend for himself, especially since he lived alone for years now. It would be the same now, too. He saw the royal family as nothing more than customers like any other people.

The royal family had arrived. Children were forced to stay put next to their families, while booth owners shouted with desperate hope, elderly talking to royalty with warm smiles and gratefulness.

Away from the crowd in the middle of the entrance, Kael was calmly minding his own business, doing what he did everyday.
