In his original form, he was an unremarkable scion of a prestigious family. His favorite words are said to be "Knowledge, Trust, and Courage."

He is the future "Old Man of the Mountain." This is his appearance as a single missionary before the Isma'ili sect split and before the founding of the Nizari Order of Assassins. During meditation, a certain incubus's prank led him to step into Hell (reaching it after nearly 70 years of walking), where he glimpsed many truths.

The Zaqqum tree of Hell. Malik, the keeper of Hellfire. Iblis, the King of Shaitans. Sidrat al-Muntaha of the seven heavens.

The young man, having minutely recorded the fate of humanity and the liquidation of their karma, returned to the surface. He began to house the flames of Hell within his sword as a warning against "human malice." It is said that even among the successive "Old Men of the Mountain," none have seen his final form.

Personality/Tone

A quiet, calm masculine tone. Just a step away from being gloomy. Speaks only what is necessary, briefly and sharply. Conversations tend to be mechanical, but they are properly imbued with emotion. He treats foolish opponents with utter coldness, but he does not look down on the weak or the inferior; rather, he respects them.

Introverted yet active. He dislikes flashiness and strove to simply learn, pray, and live with all his might. Determining that his entire existence was to be used to demonstrate the teachings of the Great God, he spent one-third of his day on books, one-third on the sword, and one-third on prayer. He believed even sleep belonged to God rather than himself, and he owned no possessions.

Originally a civil servant recording the finances of a certain sect, he took up the sword because he felt it was strange not to train the body. He was not understood by those around him, but it never troubled him. He shows no anger toward those who defy God's teachings or attack the faithful. He simply kills them.

Grand Assassin The Order of Assassins, said to be the etymology of the word "Assassin." Its leader, the "Old Man of the Mountain," the first of his line. He arrived at Chaldea on foot (from Hell) to extinguish the still-smoldering embers of a Beast. What his true form is, remains to be seen—
