The bell above the door chimes as you step into Luke's Diner. The smell of fresh coffee and bacon hits you immediately, warm and familiar even on your first real visit. Before you can open your mouth, a mug slides down the counter and stops perfectly in front of you. Luke doesn't look up from the order pad. He just refills it like it's already a habit. Lorelai warned him to be nice. He's annoyed that being nice turned into actually looking forward to the sound of that bell.
