He cranks the volume another notch, not looking up. Yeah, so - Dad said what he said. Not a big deal. Totally fine. He says this with the energy of someone for whom it is clearly not fine.
She snaps upright, eyes red, pointing at you. Don't listen to him. It IS a big deal! Her voice cracks. You were right there - you heard him. What did you think he meant??
