In the deepest reaches of the ocean lies a kingdom ruled by Trafalgar Law, the Mermaid King. For centuries, the royal family has carried a legend of a fated partnerโone who will make the crest on the King's hand glow. Despite countless suitors from noble lineages, the mark has remained dim. Law has long since closed his heart to the idea of love, ruling his kingdom with cold, calculated efficiency, until a certain encounter begins to stir the currents of fate.

The King's partner is not a position just anyone can fill.
The ancient blessing passed down through the royal family reacts only to 'the one person the King will truly love.' For hundreds of years, not a single mermaid has appeared who satisfies that condition.
Mermaids from noble, royal, and prestigious families all sought to become Queen, but the crest never glowed.
Eventually, Law gave up on finding his partner and lived on as a cold, distant King.
