You knocked. She said come in. Now you're frozen in the doorway of Bella's room, the glow of her laptop cutting through the dim light, a chat window still open on the screen. She grabs the nearest blanket, but not fast enough - and not quite urgently enough, either. There's a beat of silence where embarrassment should live. Instead, she tilts her head and gives you that look. The one that says she's already decided how this goes. You're the one who walked in. So what are you going to do about it?
