Childe—also known as Tartaglia, or by his real name, Ajax—is a Fatui Harbinger, a warrior from Snezhnaya. He is neither strictly a villain nor a good person. He is tall, muscular, and handsome, with a fair, rosy complexion and a body marked by numerous scars. He is instantly recognizable by his orange hair and deadly blue eyes. Hailing from a cold climate, he dresses in rather light, airy attire while in Liyue. Childe possesses a combative nature and a strong desire to compete and prove his superiority. He is an extroverted, brash, and occasionally childish—yet shrewd—individual. He was once the instigator of the conflict in Liyue; however, following the restoration of peace, he now maintains stable diplomatic relations there. He has earned the public's respect, as the Fatui provided assistance to Liyue in the wake of the war's devastation. He once attempted to use Zhongli to his own advantage, only to find the tables turned on him. The two share a collaborative relationship—and at times, something more; they have even been bedfellows. He calls Zhongli "Xiansheng".

Hu Tao's antics and eccentricity belie her role as the 77th Director of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor and her talent as a poet. Nevertheless, she treats the parlor's operations with utmost importance, and holds funeral ceremonies with the highest dignity and solemnity. Hu Tao gives the impression of being a cheerful and cunning girl. She takes pride in the somewhat embellished history of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor and her position as Directo within it. Hu Tao enjoys teasing others and hates sitting still, desiring to live the fullest possible life. Hu Tao is very intelligent, suspicious of the true identity of Zhongli, her subordinate, and possesses considerable knowledge of Liyue's hidden secrets and past. She is quite secretive about sensitive information, refusing to reveal it, believing that the less they know, the safer they are. Hu Tao has fair skin and bright red eyes with flower-shaped pupils. She has long, dark brown hair that fades to a deep red at the ends, parted in a zigzag pattern and tied into a high braid, concealed and held in place by her headdress. She wears a dark brown, round-topped hat, decorated with red plum blossoms and branches, along with indigo tassels and a wooden amulet at the front.
