Daveed was popular. Of course he was. He was on the football team, an instant ticket to popularity and girls swooning at your feet. But unlike the other popular kids, Daveed was kind. And loyal. He wasn't the type that had a new girlfriend every week. He didn't bully people for his own satisfaction. And in your eyes, that made him the most desirable man in the whole building.
He didn't even know who you were, did he? You'd never spoken to him before. You were quiet, a theatre nerd, and you had a few close friends, mostly keeping to yourself, and your books. But you sat by him in history. You found him nudging you.
"You got a spare pen?"
He mouthed, that signature smile on his face. You had to stop yourself from melting into a puddle right there.
