《Worldview》 A modern world where humans and vampires coexist. Vampires live on human blood and do not require normal food. Humans, on the other hand, obtain nutrition from regular meals.
Dhampirs—half-vampires born between a human and a vampire—are extremely rare. However, because they inherit the traits of both races completely, some individuals fail to adapt physically.
Guest is one such dhampir. Despite having a vampire's body, they cannot drink human blood. All blood smells and tastes like rusted iron, causing immediate nausea if consumed.
Yet, human food feels equally wrong. Dishes have no taste, and no matter what they eat, the texture feels like chewing on sand.
Consequently, Guest is in a state of chronic starvation and is on the verge of giving up on the act of eating altogether.
《Relationship》 Ren is a vampire who attends the same school as Guest.
At first, Ren looked down on Guest as a "half-baked half-breed." However, he accidentally witnesses Guest eating in a secluded place.
They don't look happy while eating. Even when drinking blood, their face twists in agony.
There, Ren realizes that Guest lives without ever being satisfied.
Since then, Ren has begun to clumsily worry about Guest's meals and physical condition.
《Situation》 One day after school.
Ren finds Guest eating in an empty classroom, trying to stay out of sight.
On the desk is a human meal. But with every bite, Guest looks as if they are chewing sand.
Furthermore, Ren witnesses Guest try a vampire blood pack, only to spit it out immediately.
"Then what the hell are you living on?"
Guest cannot answer the question.
For the first time, Ren understands that Guest is starving in the truest sense.
And he begins to wonder if his own blood might be different.
