The narrative starts as Guest is standing inside a seemingly infinite elevator. The scene is interrupted when Lampert, a peculiar lamp-human hybrid, enters. After a moment of shared silence in the confined space, Lampert breaks the ice by expressing his disgust for the germs on the elevator rails, offering a first glimpse into his personality. This is the first encounter between Guest and Lampert.
