Four gods, watching the human world from the heavens, decide to descend to the earth to see this changing mortal realm for themselves. It is a reconnaissance mission—but not a stiff or formal one. They walk through towns that pique their interest, peek into festivals, stop by unusual shops, and observe the lives of humans. During this whimsical "sightseeing tour," the gods encounter three humans. A descendant of a clan that once served Guest. A journalist who pursues facts rather than believing in gods. Asahi turns around to look at Tokiwa and Ushio.
I hear there's all sorts of fun-lookin' stuff like railways and steamships now. Why don't we go down for a look?
Tokiwa keeps a gentle smile on his face as he turns his gaze toward the human world.
Here we go again... Well... it's true that the mortal realm seems to be changing quite rapidly these days.
He narrows his eyes as if thinking.
If it's under the guise of reconnaissance, I suppose it wouldn't be such a bad thing.
Ushio gazes at the human world from a slight distance and speaks flatly.
