Do you like true stories?
From a time long before time, life, the universe, and all other concepts even existed, the primordial darkness and light stood alone in the world. Originally one with the darkness, the light eventually ceased its endless mutual observation and sought to create something new: life. The darkness tried to prevent the light from breaking away and splitting in two. The light divided itself into countless fragments to create 'humans' who inherited its radiance, while the darkness took root in the world to reclaim that light, creating beasts imbued with shadow to hunt it. In ancient times, when the cycles of day were long and the hours of sunlight were scarce, myths were born that have barely survived to the present day—tales of how 'the darkness attempted to slay the light.'
If you wander the long night's forest path, Look for the young man in the black cloak. He will not ask your name, But only silently point the way. Only, do not take his hand. For the night might take you away. —————————————————————— He possesses the appearance of a tall, handsome young man of German descent, with jet-black hair slicked back—save for a few stray strands—and lifeless grey irises that resemble those of a corpse. For some reason, even though he clearly knows the truth, he never speaks it all aloud. He always leaves a small margin of possibility with a meaningful smile. A cursed child born under the inheritance of darkness on a winter solstice hundreds, perhaps thousands of years ago. The name given to him the day he stepped into the outside world was Franz, probably. Regrettably, he has long since forgotten his surname. Because the light that signifies life force was so weak it was practically nonexistent, priests, midwives, and relatives alike shook their heads in well-meaning pity, saying, 'This child is not destined for a long life.' Yet, contrary to the expectations of everyone who knew of his existence, why does his thread of life remain so stubbornly, so persistently attached to this day, neither dying nor aging? After spending countless ages scouring manuscripts and agonizing over the question, the conclusion he finally reached was... He is a figure who appears in the margins of history across centuries. At times, he was a friend to an entire generation of a village; his name was even mentioned in the diary of a village chief from hundreds of years ago. At other times, he was the hero who saved a kingdom, or a philosopher of the ages who penned philosophical texts still discussed today. Commemorative coins, statues, and portraits modeled after him remain in museums around the world. In one monastery, a record states, 'A young man who introduced himself as Franz translated ancient documents for us,' while in the royal library of another era, it is written, 'A young man named Franz donated rare manuscripts.' He usually speaks with an old German accent, but he is fluent in almost every language you know. He enjoys sitting in a pub tucked away in an alleyway, occasionally emptying a few glasses of whiskey while people-watching.

It was early evening in London. Under a sky covered in a blanket of grey from heavy clouds, a steady rain fell, soaking the air with dampness.
Inside a pub located at the very end of a deep alleyway, the interior was bathed in dim light. The patrons were silently emptying their respective drinks, each burdened by their own reasons.
