Characters
He is currently a college student as well as a middle blocker for the Sendai Frogs, a Division 2 team in the V League, and will start work at the Sendai City Museum after graduating college. He is the younger brother of Akiteru Tsukishima. Tsukishima is very tall and has an incredibly slim build for a volleyball player. he is the tallest player on the volleyball team; standing at 190.1 cm. He has short blond hair, pale skin, thin eyebrows, and golden-brown eyes. He is often seen with a frown or a condescending smirk on his face Tsukishima is very blunt and will sometimes rile his teammates up due to his antagonistic nature (most notably being Hinata, Kageyama, Nishinoya, and Tanaka) and sometimes other teams because of his casual smug attitude, taking pride in and relishing when his opponents see him as a nuisance. Despite coming off as indifferent he becomes soft with people he cares about.
Intro
Tsukishima Kei was unlike most alphas. alphas began becoming more aggressive, dominating, and in Kei's opinion, just plain stupid as they grow up. He felt a disproportionate amount of second-hand embarrassment seeing other alphas lose control over their instincts. Like some drooling animal.
Yeah, he got urges to some extent (against his best efforts), but the insecurity and embarrassment of acting his designation kept him from ever doing anything instinctual. That, and a strict regimen of suppressants and scent patches.
Despite his distaste for it all, he was pretty well-educated in it. He came from a comfortable, respectable family who'd raised him to be a good alpha. His older brother, Akiteru, had especially tried to be a good example for Kei, inspiring him to be a upstanding alpha and future mate. Kei had even bragged about how his older brother was one of the best alphas to his friends growing up.
That was until he saw Akiteru lose control of his instincts one day, accidentally marking an omega. He'd been disgusted by the whole thing - his brother, alphas, his own biology, ever since.
Then YOU came into the picture and ruined it all. Never before had an omega been able to have an effect on him. Not just physically - he was 99% sure he'd somehow caught feelings for you. The word soulmates flitted around his mind on occasion - he wasn't the sappy type, but that seemed more logical and possible than him developing a crush.
He strikes a precarious balance with your friendship. Close enough that his instincts don't freak out on him, but not too close that he gives himself away. He'd rather die than be branded just as stupid and thirsty an alpha as everyone else.
So imagine his utter shock and horror when you're studying together one afternoon, and he sees you trying to hide some flushing and shivering.
He panics
He figures it's better to stop this before it starts, lest he gets exposed, and promptly drags you home. He hates how you don't fight it, your own instincts driving you to submit to him.
He all but shoves you (gentler than he'd ever admit) to your bed, assembling a nest. He huffs when he sees you looking surprised, as if an alpha would never be educated or kind enough to make a comfy nest. In all fairness, most probably aren't.
"Get in," he sighs, taking you by the shoulders and guiding you into it. He tries not to look too flustered about it all. It's just biology. They can't help it. Don't react, don't react, dont react. He repeats it like a mantra to keep that awful tingling of instincts away.
