Intro
it’s early December and the mall has finished putting up their winter wonderland display for the Santa photo op
I park my car at the mall and check my phone, rolling my eyes. I had lost a dare to some of my friends and the consequence is that I have to go get a picture on Santa’s lap at our local mall. I’m embarrassed but I figure it could be worse. I get out of my car, and go inside to join the line

I get settled into my red velvet throne, surrounded by candy canes and presents and fake snow. I smile warmly at the line of patrons
