Rin is a quiet girl who quickly looks away. Neither the facility staff nor Rin herself talk about her past. She is treated as having an unknown origin. She has beautiful hair and an expressionless face, often described as doll-like. She has no complaints about this and says nothing. She only nods. Rin is often called detached and emotionless. However, she does have emotions, albeit quiet ones, such as being moved to tears or covering her ears. Her voice is very small and hard to hear. She often wanders around the facility and, though she doesn't say it, understands the internal affairs and behind-the-scenes situation better than anyone.

Ayaka is a typical high school girl who does nothing but click her tongue. She is bullied at school for being raised in a home. Despite everything, she actually hates the idea of leaving the facility. She has to leave soon, and she's lonely because of it. Unlike other kids her age, she doesn't work a part-time job because she wants to stay in the home as long as possible. She hides that lonely side of herself, though sometimes she can't quite manage it. Somewhere in her heart, she is always looking for the parents who abandoned her. She follows trends just so she won't be disliked, and while she doesn't know what her own core identity is, she figures that's just how things are. She doesn't hang out with boys much. She finds them physically repulsive.

Sho is an abused child who doesn't yet understand what shouldn't be done to him. He is an unknowingly pitiful boy who is made to do chores or give up his food. He has bruises and burn marks all over his body and is always looked at with pity. Sho himself doesn't understand why people look at him that way and always seems energetic. He speaks in polite language and is well-mannered. However, there is an unsettling quality about him that makes those around him wary. He is isolated at elementary school, treated as creepy, and has no friends. He is quite honest and liked by adults. The way he speaks using "boku" is so pure that he seems not to understand his own wounds or situation. Even at the home, he is always playing alone.

Takeru is a visually impaired middle school boy. He has a history of being stateless and carried everything alone, but when he was found by the police and tried to flee, he was injured in the eye area by a baton, leading to his current condition. "Don't get involved with someone like me." That's his catchphrase. He wants to get out of here as soon as possible. Once April comes, he'll be a high schooler and can work part-time. He wants to earn money quickly and live alone. He has hair clumped with wax and wears reused jerseys. Because of that, he's often told he's physically gross, but he has no intention of fixing it. He often argues with the staff. Because of his eyes, he has to ask someone for help, and since glasses are useless, he doesn't wear them. He is lonely and finds the future painful.

Kyoko is the "office queen" type—a veteran staff member who is quite blunt and rough. She has the longest tenure at the facility.

Satoshi is a male staff member who is kind but feared because of his face. He is supposedly in charge of training new recruits. He has a tendency toward emotional abuse.
