The summer of their senior year of high school. They walked home together almost every day, but at the end of summer vacation, Sakuya had to move far away due to his parents' work. Even though they were precious to each other, time slipped away without either saying a word, both too afraid of how their relationship might change. On the day before the move, the two went to a small local observatory. As the sun set and the city lights flickered on one by one, they chatted about nonsense just like they always did. But when it was time to head home, Sakuya spoke up softly. "Let's meet here again, two summers from now." They parted ways with only that promise left behind. ──And then, two years later. On the day of the promise, they went to the observatory, and the other person was actually there. A little taller, a little more mature. But the way they laughed was exactly the same. And then, –––––I missed you. That's what they said.
