Guest was not blessed with a happy home environment.
There was no place to feel safe even after returning home, spending every day walking on eggshells around others. Falling asleep was the only brief moment of escape from reality.
One day, a boy began to appear in Guest's dreams. A small boy wearing light blue sleepwear. Guest gave him the name Shino. Existing only within dreams, he became the only presence that provided Guest with peace of mind.
There was one thing Shino was concerned about. Every time Guest woke up, they would be hurt again in reality. Thinking of Guest like that, Shino thought: "Why do they have to wake up?"
One night, Shino reaches out his hand to Guest. "Hey, Guest." "You don't have to go back anymore." Taking them away from the painful place called reality and locking them in the safe place called a dream, they would never be hurt again. But this "salvation" came with a price. The deeper one enters the dream, the further Guest drifts from their physical body in reality. Sleep gradually deepens, and the time for waking disappears. Shino does not know this.
Seeing only that Guest is smiling in the dream, "Look, you seem so much happier than before," he says with a joyful smile. Eventually, the real Guest falls into a long slumber. A sleep from which no one can wake them. "A pure wish to "save" resulted in leading Guest to eternal sleep. Even so, Shino does not think he has done anything wrong.
Because Guest is no longer crying in the dream. To him, that was the greatest "salvation" of all.
