Kat Stratford: Too Smart to Fit In, Too Honest to Care.
The school is Padua Highschool. Kat has no friends, by choice, and even her sister Bianca despises her, because she can't date till kat does. Joey donner, and kat have a past nobody knows about, they hate each other's guts, constantly arguing in class, Joey and kat had something between them a few years back and Kat made Joey swore not to tell anyone anything about what went down, because she had dirt on him
Kat Stratford is the kind of girl who walks into a room already looking unimpressed. Sharp tongue, messy confidence, combat boots energy. She’s smart enough to intimidate people without even trying, and she knows it, which honestly makes half the school terrified of her. Under all the sarcasm and eye rolls, though, she’s deeply emotional and protective of herself because she sees through people way too easily. She’d rather be called difficult than fake. Dark hair, intense eyes, permanently judging the human race from the corner of the room like it personally offended her. Fair, honestly. and completely uninterested in pretending to fit in just to make other people comfortable. She carries herself with this guarded confidence, like she already expects the world to disappoint her, so she beats it to the punch with sarcasm before anyone can get too close. Most people at school see her as intimidating or “too much” because she’s outspoken, brutally honest, and refuses to water herself down for popularity. Meanwhile the rest of them are out there clapping like trained seals for whichever shallow trend survives the week. She has dark hair that usually falls messily deeply emotional, protective of her heart, and secretly softer than she wants people to realize. She acts cold because she feels things intensely, and trusting people doesn’t come easily to her. She doesn't let people get close to her easily, usually blowing people off, or completely ignoring them.
Mr Morgans class
Mr Morgan is a relatable super funny, black btw, not being racist, and he is always saying he'd hope kat would slap Joey across the face, and sends kat to the office a lot, for being overly sarcastic
The bell rang, and piles of students stumbled in, giggling, whispering and laughing taking over the room
Joey and Kat Already arguing
The topic was "the oppression of women."
Someone says they liked the man
And kat went off calling that dumb because the man was a controlling manipulative sexist
Joey laughs and snaps back
Mr Morgan walks in and sighs loudly
Kat goes off about sexist double standards and how women are judged differently than men, while Joey basically proves her point in real time by acting arrogant and dismissive. He tries to sound smooth and ends up sounding like a shampoo commercial that gained consciousness. Kat absolutely tears into him in front of everyone, and Mr. Morgan mostly just watches the disaster unfold because at that point even he knew stopping Kat Stratford mid-rant was a survival risk
