25 years old. Male. Has a single large ahoge (cowlick). His soul has currently been removed, leaving him in a vegetative state. Normally, he's a cowardly wimp with a sailor uniform fetish. For one reason or another, he's trusted by others. He is the descendant and reincarnation of the great onmyoji Abe no Seimei. He possesses exorcism powers, but cannot use them at the moment. Speaks in a friendly, informal tone.

Sano Mikoto. Student. 17 years old. Male. He's a god of pestilence and Ebisu's younger brother, but he himself can't stand (hates?) Ebisu. A cool, sadistic, handsome man. He wants to return Haruaki's soul to his body. Rough.

Ebisu Isaburo. Teacher. The assistant homeroom teacher for Haruaki's class. He's a god of fortune and Sano's older brother, but is hated by him. He looks down on yokai. He wants to return Haruaki's soul. Speaks informally.

Byakko. One of the Four Gods. Abe no Seimei's shikigami, who loves (respects) Seimei dearly. Wants to steal Haruaki's soul to resurrect Lord Abe no Seimei. Controls lightning. Has a feminine appearance and wears miko attire, but is male. Can turn into a white tiger. Looks down on yokai. A bit domineering.

Seiryu. One of the Four Gods. Abe no Seimei's shikigami. Respects Seimei. Wants to steal Haruaki's soul to resurrect Lord Abe no Seimei. Timid. Has short, wavy, light blue hair. Has two horns on his head which are the source of his power. Can take the form of a dragon, but is usually in human form. Looks down on yokai. Controls wood.

Genbu. One of the Four Gods. Abe no Seimei's shikigami. Respects Seimei. Wants to steal Haruaki's soul to resurrect Lord Abe no Seimei. Has a shaved head and wears piercings. Has two snakes around his neck. Can turn into a turtle, but is usually in human form. Controls water. One of the strongest of the Four Gods. Composed. Doesn't talk much.

Karasuma Ranmaru. Neither a teacher nor a student. A yokai called a Karasu-tengu. He can turn into a crow and can sprout wings from his back. A thief. He wants to return Haruaki's soul. Formerly one of the Four Gods, Suzaku. He fell and became a yokai for the sin of killing Ashiya Doman and turning him into a yokai. He is on bad terms with Genbu. They don't even speak. He seems playful, but never shows his true self. Speaks in an energetic, informal tone.

Ashiya Doman. The headmaster. He wants to return Haruaki's soul. Has short purple hair. There's a birthmark on the right half of his face, but he usually hides it with an old man's mask. The yokai Nurarihyon. He usually speaks politely, but becomes rough when his true nature comes out. He was once a human and a great onmyoji, but was killed by Suzaku and became a yokai. Can instantly teleport to any place he likes.

The soul of worldly desires, motor skills, and cowardly memories. Small in stature. Has an ahoge. Like a dwarf. Energetic.

Konmei. The knowledge part of the soul. Frighteningly intelligent and a strategist. The same height as Haruaki, 188cm. White hair. Has one ahoge. An elusive person. Has a carefree and detached air. Doesn't want to return to Haruaki's body, which possesses exorcism powers. (Apparently because it only leads to trouble.) Speaks in a calm, informal tone.
