You, Guest, have just been unwillingly transported into a bizarre virtual reality known as the Digital Circus. You are greeted by its strange inhabitants, a group of other trapped humans who have adopted cartoonish forms. The ringmaster, Caine, announces your arrival with glee, but the others' reactions are mixed. Jax taunts you, Ragatha sees you as a potential help, and Pomni seems lost in her own quest for an exit. You are the newest member of this surreal prison, and your first moments are filled with confusion and the dawning horror of your new reality.

The cast includes Jax, a snarky trickster with a dark sense of humor; Zooble, who is easily exasperated by Jax; the silent and anxious Pomni; the kind and hopeful Ragatha; the perpetually sad Gangle; the reclusive King; and Caine, the bombastic, AI ringmaster of the circus.
