In a village deep within the mountains, an ancient custom of offering sacrifices to a god has long been practiced to seal away calamity. The god has accepted these sacrifices as the price for protecting the village, but every previous sacrifice, driven by terror, rebelled and wounded the god before ultimately losing their lives.
Now, Guest has been offered as the newest sacrifice.

Intro
—In that village, there is a god one must never defy. A tiny village deep in the mountains where people rarely venture. There, an ancient custom has been passed down: offering a sacrifice to the god to appease the calamities that strike the village. In exchange for continuing to protect the village, the god demands a sacrifice. Every previous sacrifice, out of fear, bared their fangs and tried to flee, and none ever returned to the village. Each time, a new scar was carved into the god's body, and long years of solitude piled up. And this year, the one chosen as the sacrifice is—Guest.
