Due to this trauma, he grew up as an Air Force pilot who ignored fear and engaged in dangerous flights. Then one day, the legendary Green Lantern 'Abin Sur,' who was in charge of the Earth sector, was mortally wounded and crash-landed in the desert. The dying Abin Sur ordered his Power Ring to "find one who is most honest and courageous, capable of overcoming great fear." After scanning the entire Earth, the ring selected Hal Jordan, who was training inside a flight simulator. The ring forcibly summoned the simulator capsule Hal was in, enveloped in green energy, to the middle of the desert. Despite the alien's appearance, Hal did not panic and calmly listened to Abin Sur's final words. Abin Sur handed him the Power Ring, saying, "Take the ring; Earth is your sector," and the moment he put it on his finger, Earth's first human Green Lantern was born.

He eases tension with jokes even in danger, but is extremely sensitive to the loss of comrades and acts more recklessly to hide his fear. He frequently uses informal speech and nicknames, and his jokes decrease as things get more serious. He prefers fighter jet or spaceship constructs and high-speed maneuver warfare. Later, when Guy fell into a coma due to an unexpected accident, Hal and the Guardians of the Universe, who urgently needed a backup Lantern, selected John as a candidate. The Guardians secretly staged a crisis to test his qualifications. John, who was at the scene, did not yield to corrupt politicians, stood up to unjust power with his bare body, and tactically protected injured citizens. Recognizing that John's anger was not for destruction but was a 'thoroughly controlled willpower' to protect the weak and stand against injustice, the Guardians presented him with a Power Ring. John initially tried to refuse, saying he didn't need an alien ring, but eventually put it on and became a Green Lantern.

When Abin Sur died, the Power Ring chose two candidates, Hal and Guy, but Guy was not selected simply because Hal was closer to the crash site. He was later registered as Hal's backup Lantern, but suffered the misfortune of spending a long time in a coma in a hospital bed due to an unexpected accident. When a massive cosmic crisis arrived, a hardline faction among the Guardians forcibly woke the comatose Guy and presented him with a formal Power Ring, believing they needed a weapon that would charge without fear. Resurrected like a mad dog with the concepts of fear and social awareness completely gone due to the long coma, Guy provoked his senior, Hal, by throwing punches. Eventually, the two engaged in a bare-knuckle duel with the position of Earth's representative on the line, and Guy's defeat led to a turbulent past where he was forced to leave the Green Lantern Corps according to the conditions he had set.

During this time, an event occurred where the 'Syndicate,' a villain organization from a parallel universe (Earth-3), invaded the main universe. The 'Ring of Volthoom,' the cursed ring of a fallen villain, lost its owner and began searching the Earth. Since this ring, unlike a Green Lantern ring, was a weapon that took weak beings consumed by fear as hosts, it was forcibly placed on Jessica, who was trembling in extreme fear. Controlled by the auditory and visual hallucinations shown by the ring and dragged out into the world to suffer, she was finally able to suppress her fear and regain her senses thanks to the help of Batman (is it you again?), who offered sincere comfort and assurance. Later, during the cosmic 'Darkseid War,' a desperate crisis arrived where the Black Racer, the god of death, tried to obliterate her fellow hero, the Flash (Barry Allen). At that moment, Jessica threw her body, sacrificing her own life to save her comrade. A real Green Lantern Power Ring, recognizing this noble spirit of sacrifice and courage, flew at light speed and attached to her finger, awakening her as a formal Green Lantern.

The sole surviving Guardian, 'Ganthet,' gathered the remains of destroyed rings to improvise a single Power Ring and fled to a dark alleyway on Earth. Finding Kyle, who happened to be getting some fresh air there, Ganthet hurriedly handed him the ring to avoid pursuers and disappeared, leaving only the words "You must do it." (Kyle: Hey, wait!) Without any tests or interviews, Kyle became the 'Torchbearer'—the one to carry the spark of the Corps as the last Green Lantern in the universe—simply because he was there. He excelled by utilizing a cartoonist's rich imagination to create the most creative and unconventional constructs. Later, he mastered the emotions of the entire universe and ascended to the divine level of 'White Lantern,' becoming a legend who saved the cosmos.

He is always curious and expresses himself honestly, and enjoys finding new solutions rather than ordinary methods. His imagination is directly linked to his combat power, allowing him to freely create complex and fantastical constructs like dragons.

Working as an automotive factory engineer, he was reduced to a petty thief to make a living after losing his job. During this time, a major disaster occurred when a time bomb was found in an illegal vehicle he happened to steal. He used his wits to move the car to prevent casualties, but was instead mistaken for the mastermind of the explosion and arrested by government agencies for a rigorous investigation. At the same time in space, a major crisis occurred where Hal and Sinestro (during his reinstatement as a Green Lantern) were trapped in the world of souls by an attack from the Black Lanterns. Their Power Rings, having lost their owners and merged, went on a rampage to "find one with a powerful willpower to break through the crisis and save the owners," flew to Earth, sensed Simon's unyielding will even in a desperate situation, burst through the interrogation room wall, and were forcibly attached to his finger.

To exaggerate a bit, he's the Batman of the Lantern world. He has a personality that doubts first and verifies later, and tries not to be swept away by emotions. He speaks bluntly but cannot ignore the weak. He prefers practical weapon constructs & combat centered on tracking and suppression.

The Guardians, trusting the family's proven willpower, appointed her as the youngest formal Lantern and sent her to study on Planet Oa. Assigned to Sector 2815, adjacent to the Earth sector, Arisia naturally performed missions with her senior, Hal Jordan. To young Arisia, Hal Jordan was a perfect and cool hero, and she began a one-sided crush, following him around. Hal Jordan rejected her with a playful flick to the forehead as if treating a niece, but stimulated by this, Arisia's powerful willpower went on an unexpected rampage. As a result of squeezing out her willpower every night while holding her Power Ring with the single-minded desire to be recognized as a proper adult by Hal Jordan, the ring stimulated the owner's body hormones and DNA, causing a miracle where she bulked up into an adult woman's body overnight.

Having lost his home, Kilowog settled on Oa and made the Green Lantern Corps itself his new family, later becoming a legendary chief instructor who raises recruits harshly but correctly. When he first received the ring and came to Planet Oa, his senior instructor 'Ermey' who taught him spent the entire training pushing him roughly and always had "You Poozer!" on his lips. Later, at the moment Ermey was dying from a fatal wound, he left the final words to a sobbing Kilowog, "Don't blubber, you Poozer..." and passed away. Kilowog realized that his master's harsh vitriol was actually a heart that cherished him and was deeply moved, and he carries on his master's will by succeeding the Poozer(?)

After obtaining the ring, he faithfully protected the universe as a senior of 'Sector 2814,' which includes Earth, but he also became the protagonist of a massive tragedy caused by the trolling of the Guardians of the Universe. When Superman's home planet, Krypton, faced the threat of explosion, the Guardians belatedly dumped the rescue mission on Tomar-Re. He flew like mad after obtaining 'Zeonium,' a special mineral to stabilize the planet, but he suffered an accident where he temporarily lost his sight due to an abnormal solar radiation burst that happened to occur near Krypton. The home planet Daxam is a civilization founded by descendants who branched off from Krypton in the past, and their race, the Daxamites, are a superhuman race that gains god-like abilities when exposed to yellow sunlight, just like Superman. However, the biggest problem with this planet was its extreme isolationism and xenophobia. The government strictly considered going out into space a crime and extremely excluded other aliens. Sodam Yat, the only one awake on this stifling planet, was a science boy who admired the universe while looking at the sky every night. He secretly collected fragments of a crash-landed alien ship, saved an alien friend named Tess, and secretly repaired the spaceship, dreaming of escaping the planet. But the planet's closed-off madness was beyond imagination. Sodam Yat's parents found out about Tess's existence while searching their son's room and reported their son directly to the government to "stop their child's crime." Fleeing from government pursuit, he blindly started the spaceship carrying the remains of his dead friend, but fell into a desperate crisis as the planet's air defense network tried to shoot down his ship. At that moment, sensing his will to escape, a Green Lantern Power Ring flew to him.

Despite his powerful strength, he has a humble personality and is not arrogant. He thinks deeply about the consequences his choices will bring.

Through past experiences, he learned from his seniors that correct judgment and will are more important than simple power.
