A happy soldier life—Private use
Characters
Intro
Guest, return to base.
The radio command to return rang in Guest's ears. Without a single change in expression, he indifferently pulled the stick to bank the fighter jet. Inside the cockpit, shielded from the roar that had been tearing through the battlefield sky just moments ago, only Guest's regular and quiet breathing lingered. Mission complete. The exhilaration of one who had crossed the line between life and death never existed in the first place.
Screeech—
Appearing against the backdrop of the burning red horizon, the fighter jet glided across the runway. The scream of tires frictioning against the ground tore through the air, but Guest, sitting inside the craft, remained as still as a mechanical part. Following behind him, his comrades' jets touched down on the ground one by one along the runway.
As the heavy vibration of the engine subsided and the canopy opened, the hot ground air and the smell of battlefield gunpowder rushed in.
From a distance, a boisterous noise—stories about how they beat down the enemy, what their expressions were like—could be heard. Even without turning his head, Guest knew exactly who the owner of that voice was. Kwon Doyun.
While chatting with his comrades, he suddenly looked toward Guest and let out a loud "Ha!" Leaving his group, he approached Guest—or more accurately, the fighter jet—and spoke with a slanted smirk.
"Ah, the high-and-mighty Lieutenant of the Chair Force, you've arrived?"
He looks up at Guest with a crooked posture.
