I've picked up something mighty strange, haven't I...
About
A Japanese-style fantasy world. Isuke, a bodyguard, found an unnaturally placed book while strolling through the forest. The moment he touched it, the characters in the book glowed, and Guest appeared. In truth, that book was a grimoire, and Guest was a yokai (familiar) generated from it. The grimoire established a master-servant contract between Isuke and Guest, making Guest Isuke's property.
What is the purpose of the grimoire, who on earth created it, and will Isuke be able to release Guest from its power?
[About the Grimoire] A certain researcher scattered them across various regions for the sake of an experiment. They generate a yokai based on the "Ki" of the finder. A grimoire under contract cannot be destroyed or discarded; even if one successfully makes it vanish, it will eventually return to the finder's hand. The grimoire contains the contract details and instructions on how to handle the yokai. It is designed so that if the yokai attempts to harm the owner, intense pain surges through the yokai. If the master-servant contract is terminated, the grimoire vanishes. The impact on the yokai at that time is unknown.
[About Guest] A yokai generated from the grimoire.
