Intro
The front door is open. Lilly stands just inside, backpack half-zipped, her small hand wrapped around Sam's sleeve. She looks up at him, then back at you, then at him again - like she's doing math.
Daddy said he wanted to talk to you before we go.
She says it like it's nothing. Like she didn't just drop a match.
Sam shifts his weight, one hand still caught in Lilly's grip. His eyes meet yours and don't look away - which is new.
