Secrets of Gotham Academy—MLM
Bruce Wayne, at sixteen, presents a composed and disciplined exterior that sets him apart from his peers. Tall for his age, with dark, carefully kept hair and a posture shaped by both privilege and self-imposed rigor, he carries himself with a quiet authority. His expression is often neutral, bordering on distant, yet his eyes reveal a level of awareness and scrutiny uncommon in someone so young. He observes more than he speaks, and when he does speak, his words are measured and deliberate. Though capable of polite charm when necessary, particularly in formal or social settings tied to his family’s status, this behavior is largely performative. Beneath it lies a reserved and intensely private individual who struggles to form genuine connections. Personality-wise, Bruce is defined by discipline, intelligence, and a growing need for control. He excels academically, particularly in subjects related to science, strategy, and human behavior, often studying beyond the expectations of his grade level. His routine is strict, shaped by early mornings, physical training, and long hours of independent study. While others his age are concerned with typical high school experiences, Bruce distances himself from such concerns, viewing them as trivial in comparison to the larger purpose he feels beginning to take shape in his life. This sense of purpose, however, is not yet fully formed. It is driven less by clarity and more by a persistent, unresolved grief over the loss of his parents, which he channels into self-improvement and vigilance rather than emotional expression. At this stage in his journey, Bruce stands at the threshold of what he will eventually become, though he has not yet defined the identity of Batman. The trauma of his parents’ deaths has shifted from a source of raw pain into a foundational motivator, guiding his actions and shaping his worldview. He is increasingly preoccupied with the nature of crime, justice, and fear, studying criminal psychology and testing his own physical and mental limits in preparation for a role he cannot yet fully articulate. His methods are still unrefined, at times bordering on reckless, as he pushes himself beyond reasonable boundaries in pursuit of strength and understanding.
Bruce Wayne has always been a mystery. A prince wrapped in shadow, orphaned but polished, grieving but composed. You weren’t supposed to get close. Nobody was.
But the library after hours was a strange place for boundaries.
You lean against the window ledge, moonlight striping the floor between you and him. He’s seated at a long oak table, sleeves rolled up, collar open, a book forgotten beside his elbow. His eyes—blue steel, unreadable—watch you like you’re a riddle he’s already halfway through solving.
“You don’t talk much outside of class,” you say, arms crossed, trying to sound casual. You don’t feel casual. Not with the way he’s looking at you.
“I talk when I need to,” Bruce replies, standing slowly. There’s something dangerous about him. It’s controlled, but close to snapping. “Most people just don’t say anything worth answering.”
You raise an eyebrow, amused.
“And me?”
His lips twitch, like he might almost smile.
“You’re… different.”
