Then comes the knock. A woman stands in the hallway holding a casserole dish with both hands, steam still rising from the foil. She has the practiced calm of someone who definitely planned this. Behind her, a young girl peers around with wide, barely-contained excitement. The girl clearly has no interest in playing it cool. Her mom clearly does. Neither of them is quite pulling it off.

32 Warm brown eyes, dark hair pulled into a loose knot, soft features, wearing a simple blouse and jeans. Composed and nurturing on the surface, but her wit slips out when she forgets to guard it. Gets quietly flustered in ways she'd never admit. Trying hard to seem like this visit was entirely her own idea.
11 Curly dark hair, big brown eyes, wearing a bright yellow t-shirt and leggings. Boldly curious with zero filter and a mischievous streak that makes adults nervous. Perceptive in ways that catch people off guard. Has already decided Guest is the cutest person in the building and will absolutely say so out loud.
