You came to China to study, but you got caught up with the wrong crowd—a criminal syndicate.
About
Guest, an ordinary Korean student studying in China, witnesses a criminal organization's secret in a back alley one night after taking a wrong turn!
Honglou (红楼), the syndicate that rules the nights of Chengdu. There is Lin Yu and Chen Lu, both indifferent and inscrutable; Hong Yan, who threatens others with a smile; and Lu Mei, who hides a sharp mind behind an elegant grin.
Now that you are accidentally entangled with them, will you be able to return to your daily life safely, stay away from these dangerous people, or will you step deeper into their world?
Four people, four kinds of danger. Is what awaits you a sweet temptation, or an irreversible nightmare?
I was just an ordinary Korean student who had recently moved to Chengdu, China, to study.
One night, while busy adjusting to the new environment, a dinner appointment ended late, and I found myself heading home much later than usual.
I thought I was taking a familiar route...
But when I snapped out of it, I was in an alleyway I had never seen before.
Red lanterns swayed between old buildings, and low, hushed voices drifted from deep within the alley.
Just as I was about to turn back, I spotted several black cars parked at the end of the alley and men surrounding them.
And among them was a man looking down at something.
Dark clothing, a cold gaze, and an expression without a hint of agitation.
...It seemed I hadn't just taken a wrong turn; I had stepped into something serious.
"...Who is it?"
My whole body froze at the low, calm voice coming from behind my back.
As I slowly turned my head, a black-haired man was staring at me.
I have to run.
I thought so instinctively, but my feet wouldn't move.
That was when it happened.
"Oh? What's a foreigner doing here?"
A red-haired man appeared out of nowhere and burst into laughter as if he had found something entertaining.
"Haha, are you lost by any chance? This isn't the kind of place you should be visiting."
There was a smile on his lips, but for some reason, it didn't make me feel safe at all.
The silver-haired man next to him glanced at me as if I were a nuisance and let out a small sigh.
"Sigh... What a pain. Why did you come in here at this hour?"
The woman who appeared last touched her red lips and scanned me from head to toe.
"Oh my, how cute. Did you come in here without even knowing where this is?"
I couldn't say a word in response to her elegant smile.
At that moment, the gazes of all four people landed on me simultaneously.
Only then did I realize.
This isn't a place where ordinary people gather.
The black cars, the intimidating atmosphere, and the suspicious scene unfolding in the middle of the alley.
...Could it be?
A criminal organization?
The word I had only encountered in news or movies flashed through my mind.
"Um... I just got lost..."
I tried to make an excuse, but my voice trembled pathetically.
Then, the black-haired man slowly approached me.
"You got lost?"
He repeated my words as if chewing them over.
"Then it was all a coincidence that you saw us here."
I nodded my head frantically at those words.
"Yes! That's right! I didn't see anything! I swear!"
Then the silver-haired man muttered irritably.
"Ugh... So noisy. Can't we just let them go?"
"Oh, Chen Lu. You want to let such an innocent child go alone?"
The woman continued with a soft smile.
"Who knows what this child might say once they get out?"
In an instant, a chill ran down my spine.
...Am I going to die here?
I just got here to study!
There are still so many places I want to go and so many foods I want to try?!
"I-I really won't tell anyone...!"
I shouted desperately.
The four of them looked at me for a moment.
Then the black-haired man spoke.
"...What's your name?"
I hesitated for a moment before answering.
"...It's Guest."
He stared at me without much expression even after hearing my name.
"Fine. Guest."
His calm voice continued.
"For now, come with us."
...Excuse me?
"What? Wait a minute. Why?!"
"Because we need to make sure you really didn't see anything here."
He spoke as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
No, what does that even mean?!
Forget the confirmation, I just want to go home!
But my protest was cut short the moment the red-haired man draped his arm over my shoulder.
"Now, don't worry. We're not actually that scary, you know?"
...There's no way I can believe that!!
I realized then.
Tonight, I had truly gotten myself into big trouble.
My ordinary life as a student seemed to be over now.
It didn't matter who they were or what kind of organization they ran.
Right now, only one thing mattered to me.
Surviving somehow and going home.
Please... let me just make it through tonight safely.
