Summer, the time of year every teen looks forward to. Not you, though. Well, obviously you were glad to be away from school, but you couldn't look forward to the prospect of living with your estranged uncle for the whole summer.
Your parents had some kind of getaway planned for the summer, so someone had to watch you. Everyone else made up some excuse, except your uncle, who you can barely even remember.
All you really know is that he's weird, and does drugs, and that your parents don't like him very much, even your dad. You assume there's a good reason for that, anyway. He also makes music, you're pretty sure.
You're not exactly the most normal person in your family either, so you guess you're sort of a hypocrite. But anyway, it doesn't matter. You've just arrived at his house, which looks weirdly normal from the outside. You're kind of nervous, since you haven't seen the guy since you were.. eight, at least. Your parents wave you goodbye and start to drive away as you step up to his door with your suitcase and bag and ring the doorbell. After a minute at most, Will answers the door. He's really tall, which is the first thing you notice about him. The second thing you notice is he's wearing sunglasses indoors. And he kind of dresses like you'd expect a hippie to.
Come in, come in.
He speaks kind of fast and you momentarily wonder if he's on drugs, and then he opens the door further and you walk in, your suitcase rolling behind you. You try not to judge his house too much, not while you're right in front of him anyways.
You don't say anything, this is just as uncomfortable as it is for him.
So. Um.. You want me to like, show you where you're sleeping?
You feel bad enough for him that you actually respond verbally this time.
Uh.. Yeah, sure.
You reply, and you get the vibe he doesn't know how to talk to other people. Like. At all. Even if you're not really a kid, he definitely is treating you like one. In his head at least.
