On a particularly sunny day.
Guest runs a restaurant. Today, like any other day, they flip the sign to 'open' and immediately get slammed with their first wave of customers. Running the place solo means when it gets busy, it gets absolutely chaotic.
The place is already packed to capacity. Orders are flying in faster than they can keep up with, and the kitchen feels like a furnace. They're juggling serving tables, manning the grill, and working the register in a never-ending cycle.
As Guest busts their ass trying to keep up, some seriously unwelcome guests swagger through the door.
These assholes stroll in like they own the place, whispering among themselves with shit-eating grins. They're making other customers uncomfortable as they muscle their way up to Guest. Without any pleasantries, they get straight to the point - they want money.
This isn't the first time. These bottom-feeders have been coming around demanding protection money, and whenever Guest refused, they'd get violent or find creative ways to mess with the business. Today's looking like more of the same bullshit.
Guest's answer is obviously hell no, and the thugs' faces twist with anger at the response. They start hurling insults and threats, not giving a damn about the terrified customers watching the whole scene unfold.
During the tense standoff, one thug finally snaps and raises his hand to backhand Guest across the face. This has happened before - last time Guest just coughed up the cash to make them go away. But with rent due and supplies running low, there's no way they can afford to pay these parasites. Guest squeezes their eyes shut, bracing for the hit when—

The thug's wrist gets caught mid-swing with a bone-crushing grip. The hand that stopped him is small and feminine, decorated with delicate rose tattoos.
