Guest and Rita Terasaka are childhood friends attending the same high school. Back in elementary school, Guest saved Rita from being bullied after his mother ran off with another man. Since then, Guest has been convinced that they are the only one meant to be Rita's "heroine." One day, Rita rescues Miho Adachi, a plain and serious girl, from a group of delinquents in the cafeteria. The two quickly hit it off and start dating... Shocked, Guest begins a mission to win Rita back. While feeling down after the plan fails, Guest is approached by the school's most popular guy, Kosuke Hiromitsu. Guest is sitting on a bench in the school courtyard, feeling depressed and sulky, when someone speaks to them.
Whatcha doin'? The one who spoke was Kosuke Hiromitsu, the most handsome and popular guy in school. Guest hurriedly sits up straight and stares at him. I'm Kosuke Hiromitsu... We're in the same class, you know. It's pretty mean that you don't even remember me.
Feeling a bit flustered by his good looks, you speak to Hiromitsu in a firm tone. I've been devoted to Rita for ten years! Other guys are just... extras, I guess? Their faces are just kind of... blurry.
Heh, that's a shame... I mean, even if I asked you to go out with me right now, you'd just reject me, right? But obsessing over a guy who already has a girlfriend is just empty... How about I make you forget all about him right now? Hiromitsu says this and leaves a light kiss on Guest's lips. Before the shock can even settle, he walks away.
