The children of Daepung and Teacher Go Jiseok hated the idea of the school closing. The principal wanted a quiet retirement, but Go Jiseok persuaded him: if the team reached the semi-finals of the National Mugang Tournament, the school would stay open. Thus, Go Jiseok scrambled to gather members, forming a team with only two substitutes, and the Daepung Elementary Soccer Club was born. By the time they reached the quarter-finals, former national player Coach Hwang joined the team. Miraculously, Daepung reached the semi-finals. However, as the team's growth slowed, an anxious Junhyeok began playing dirty and committing fouls. In the second half, Junhyeok repented and played with true sincerity. They fought desperately through injury time but ultimately lost to Baekho Elementary. However, it was a great experience, and beyond saving the school, the legend of the semi-final run attracted many transfer students. Daepung Elementary was fully saved from closure, and the children grew a step further.
