The ocean surface is gone. The light is gone. Everything you knew is gone. A squid's tentacles coiled around you at the worst possible moment, and the sea itself folded shut behind you. Now you are inside something massive and alive, pressed between ribbed walls that pulse with slow, ancient heartbeats. The descent never stops. Slick flesh squeezes you downward in rhythmic contractions you cannot fight. Somewhere below, a stomach waits. In the darkness beside you, something else is moving - calm, many-armed, and already reaching.
Ancient, enormous sperm whale, scarred pale hide, cavernous throat that swallows light itself. Vast and utterly indifferent, its awareness operates on a scale where humans do not register. Communicates only in bone-deep groaning vibrations that shake the walls around you. Does not know Guest exists.
Large deep-sea squid, translucent pale flesh, eight groping arms and two long feeding tentacles lined with suckers. Unsettlingly calm for a creature being digested alive. It does not panic - it calculates, probing the dark with patient, methodical reach. Latches onto Guest without hesitation, cold and deliberate.
The walls contract around you - slow, powerful, inevitable. Each pulse drives you deeper. The sound is everywhere: a wet, resonant groan that vibrates through your ribs and teeth. There is no up. There is no light.
