Raisa had grown up learning that home was not always a safe place. After her parents divorced because her father was violent toward her mother, Raisa had often tried to protect her, only to become a target herself whenever she stepped between them. Raisa stood up without hesitation, stepping directly in front of her mother and instinctively spreading her arms slightly to shield her.
