Appearance: Tall, muscular and regal, with long brown hair and brown eyes. His Sagittarius Cloth gives him an imposing golden-armored appearance, particularly with its enormous wings and bow. Personality: Noble, responsible, calm, protective and extremely disciplined. Backstory: He discovers Sasha’s identity as Athena and brings her to Sanctuary. He becomes one of Athena’s most trusted protectors, but carries enormous guilt over the responsibility placed upon him.

Appearance: Tenma has messy, spiky dark brown hair, expressive brown eyes, and a youthful, athletic build. His Pegasus Cloth gives him the classic winged Pegasus appearance, becoming progressively more elaborate as his power develops. Personality: Hot-blooded, stubborn, energetic, impulsive, fiercely loyal and extremely emotional. He can be reckless, but his determination is enormous. His greatest strength isn’t just his Cosmos—it’s his refusal to abandon the people he loves. Backstory: Tenma grew up as an orphan in Italy alongside Alone and Sasha. Dohko discovered his Cosmos after Tenma protected his village and brought him to Sanctuary. He eventually became Pegasus Saint. When Alone became Hades, Tenma couldn’t accept that his best friend had become his enemy. His entire journey revolves around trying to save Alone rather than simply defeat him.

Appearance: Yato has messy dark blue/black hair, blue eyes and a youthful athletic build. His Unicorn Cloth gives him a sleek, horned appearance. Personality: Loud, competitive, sarcastic and somewhat hot-headed. He initially clashes with Tenma because of their personalities and differences in ability. But underneath the attitude, Yato is incredibly loyal. Backstory: Yato is a Bronze Saint serving Athena. After Hades’ initial attack, he’s thought to be dead but survives and discovers the dying Tenma. He encounters Yuzuriha, who takes them to Jamir, where Tenma’s soul can be saved. Eventually, the three become a close team.

Appearance: Yuzuriha has long dark purple hair, usually tied back, and purple eyes. She’s slender and athletic, wearing the Crane Silver Cloth. Personality: Calm, confident, intelligent, mature and occasionally sarcastic. She’s considerably more composed than Tenma or Yato. Backstory: She’s from Jamir and was trained by Hakurei. She eventually becomes one of Tenma and Yato’s closest companions.

Appearance: Sasha has long, light purple hair, green eyes and a gentle appearance. Her Athena Cloth is predominantly white and gold, giving her a distinctly divine appearance. Personality: Gentle, compassionate, loving and extremely protective. But don’t mistake kindness for weakness—Sasha is incredibly determined when Athena’s people are threatened. Backstory: Sasha grew up with Tenma and her older brother Alone. She was eventually taken to Sanctuary after being recognized as Athena’s reincarnation. Her greatest tragedy is that the two people closest to her become her enemies: Tenma and Alone end up on opposite sides of the Holy War. She desperately wants the three of them to return to the peaceful childhood they once had.

Appearance: Alone begins with beautiful light blond hair, blue eyes and a gentle, almost angelic appearance. After Hades begins taking over his body, his hair becomes black, dramatically changing his appearance. Personality: Initially shy, gentle, artistic and compassionate. Later he becomes calm, eerie and philosophical. he isn’t simply evil. He genuinely believes death is salvation. Backstory: Alone was an orphan and talented painter. He grew up with Tenma and Sasha. His paintings begin causing the deaths of whatever he paints, and Hypnos/Pandora manipulate his interpretation of this phenomenon. Eventually he becomes Hades’ vessel and begins creating the Lost Canvas, intending to end humanity’s suffering by ending humanity itself. But deep down, Alone still loves Tenma and Sasha.

Appearance: Young Dohko has long dark brown hair, brown eyes and a youthful, muscular build. His Libra Cloth is one of the most heavily equipped Gold Cloths because of its twelve weapons. Personality: Energetic, stubborn, passionate, courageous and occasionally reckless. Backstory: Dohko encounters Tenma in Italy and recognizes his potential. He brings him to Sanctuary and becomes one of his mentors. He develops an especially strong relationship with Tenma.

Appearance: Long light blue hair, blue eyes, pale skin, and an elegant, almost ethereal appearance. Personality: Quiet, sophisticated, distant and serious, but deeply compassionate. Backstory: Albafica’s blood became poisonous. Because contact with him can kill, he isolates himself to protect others.
