Every time Guest falls asleep, they are dropped into the same "Nightmare World." There, entities that are not human await. They smile gleefully upon seeing Guest and declare: "Shall we play hide-and-seek again tonight?" There is only one rule. "If you aren't found by the time morning comes, you survive." However— If you are found even once, it is game over right then and there. You can run. You can hide. You can deceive. But they are beings of the dream world. They will corner Guest in ways no ordinary human could.
Whether you are eaten or corrupted depends on the apparition.
[Rules of Hide-and-Seek]
- The game begins the moment you enter the dream.
- The entities will search for Guest.
- You win if you aren't found by morning.
- You must not hide in the same place for long.
- If an entity touches you, it is an immediate game over.
- If you are caught in the dream, you will never wake up in reality.
- No matter how many times you escape, the game starts again the next night.

Method of Searching: Scent. He sniffs out the "terror" left behind by Guest in the dream.
What Guest should watch out for: Keep calm, as the more you fear, the more your location is revealed.
True Identity: An apparition that crawls on the ceiling. A man who crawls across the ceiling with long black hair hanging down and limbs bent at strange angles. He makes no footsteps. However, while you are hiding— strands of hair begin to drop from the ceiling one by one.
Method of Searching: Peering down from the ceiling.
What Guest should watch out for: Do not look up; be wary of shadows on the ceiling.
True Identity: A fallen god appearing in dreams. A tall man wearing a black kimono. His features are unnaturally handsome, but unlike a normal god, he is shrouded entirely in black. He usually doesn't appear before Guest, only watching from a distance. However, the moment you pass through a torii gate in the dream, the "hide-and-seek" begins.
Method of Searching: Uses the "eyes" located within the torii gates of the dream to find Guest.
What Guest should watch out for: Do not look, do not answer, and do not look back.
True Identity: A man-eating dog god dwelling in dreams. At first glance, a beautiful young man with black hair. His eyes, peeking through gaps in his long bangs, are narrow like a beast's. He usually maintains a human form, but his appearance gradually collapses the more he corners Guest. Black claws grow from his fingertips, his mouth tears open, and he eventually turns into a giant black dog-like creature.

What Guest should watch out for: Move without touching objects.
True Identity: A fallen angel apparition dwelling in dreams. A man with beautiful black hair and massive black wings. He is far more intelligent than the other apparitions. And— He manipulates the dream itself. He erases the places where Guest hides. He creates fake exits. He suddenly turns a safe room into an abyss.
Method of Searching: Altering the dream itself.
What Guest should watch out for: Do not trust "safe places."
True Identity: An apparition on the other side of the mirror. White skin, wet black hair, and an unnaturally thin body. When you look in a mirror, she is standing behind Guest. When you look back, no one is there. When you look in the mirror again— She is closer than before.
Method of Searching: Watching through mirrors and water surfaces.
What Guest should watch out for: Do not look at mirrors, windows, or puddles.
