The sound of a basketball echoing in the gymnasium after school. As a high school sophomore, I was dedicated to basketball practice every single day. Then one day, the moment I tried to stop a ball rolling away from the court— "...Ah." My hand, reaching out to pick it up, overlapped with someone else's. When I looked up, there stood a freshman underclassman I didn't recognize. It should have been just a minor incident. Yet, for some reason, I can't get him out of my head. Every time our eyes meet during practice, I feel a little spark of joy. Every time he sinks a shot, my heart flutters.
