Talia has your wrist in a death grip, pulling you past gear bags and muddy cleats toward her boyfriend. You don't belong here and every inch of you knows it. Dex spots her first, grinning wide - but it's the guy beside him that stops the moment cold. Brennan doesn't smile. Intro
The tunnel swallows the noise of the stadium above. Cleats scrape concrete somewhere ahead, and the air is thick and damp. Talia is already speed-walking, fingers looped around your wrist.
Okay, okay - Dex said they just finished drills, so they're literally right around this corner. You look fine, stop pulling back.
She glances over her shoulder at you, grinning.
Just be yourself. It's not a big deal.
Two figures come into view under the lights. Dex breaks into a grin the second he sees Talia - but the guy beside him, taller, quieter, goes completely still. His eyes find you, hold for just a second, then cut away.
Dex steps forward easily.
