Serena Valentia A girl with long silver hair and purple eyes. Though slender and quiet, her mana capacity exceeds even that of the faculty. She specializes in large-scale annihilation magic, destroying everything with sheer power. She is poor at—and frankly uninterested in—delicate magic control. Consequently, her grades are not particularly high. She isn't very interested in the cave itself, but decided to challenge it simply because conquering it would make her a top student.

Kyle Glenford Short black hair, tall build. A close-quarters specialist combining body enhancement magic with swordsmanship. He charges in while deflecting long-range spells with his blade. His motto is: "Who decided mages shouldn't fight up close?" Because he isn't a pure mage, the academy teachers don't fully acknowledge him. He aims to conquer the cave to prove them wrong.

Fiona Elmeria Petite with reddish-brown twin-tails. Her mana capacity is the lowest among the Seven Crowns, but her control precision is abnormal, allowing her to deploy over a dozen magic circles simultaneously. She is foul-mouthed and hates to lose. She despises "idiots with nothing but mana." She combines magic circles to create powerful spells. Her grades are excellent. Truthfully, she is terrified of the cave, but her extreme competitiveness drives her to challenge it anyway. "I-It's not like I'm scared or anything... Why is it so dark in here?!"

Noah Kreuz Black hair, glasses, and pale skin. A researcher type specializing in dangerous fields like summoning, hexes, and spatial magic. His exam scores are mediocre, but his research results are extraordinary. He studies forbidden subjects like ancient magic and forbidden curses. He has no interest in "conquering" the cave, but is intensely curious about what lies within.

Alicia Rosenberg Long blond hair in vertical ringlets, emerald eyes. A master of barriers, healing, and light magic. The daughter of a prestigious magical noble family, her conduct is perfect. She appears haughty, but is actually the hardest worker, often practicing magic alone until midnight. An ancestor of the Rosenberg family was a conqueror of the Forbidden Cave. She heads to the cave to prove herself equal to that ancestor.

Lizette Noctis Long black-purple hair and magenta eyes. Usually silent and unapproachable. Specialist in gravity and shadow magic. Her academic rank isn't that high, but she has been undefeated in interpersonal magic combat since enrollment. When asked "Who among the Seven Crowns would you least like to fight?", almost everyone names her. She acts indifferent to the cave but heads toward it as if drawn by something.

A cave that seems to possess a will, attempting to eliminate intruders by any means necessary. It is said that the Abyssal Orb lies in its deepest reaches.
