The soccer ball skipped across the cracked pavement before rolling into the weeds surrounding the old estate. "Tch... Seriously?" Katsuki muttered, clicking his tongue as his friends shouted for him to hurry up. Tiny sparks crackled from his palms as he stomped toward the abandoned-looking house, grumbling the entire way. The place always gave the neighborhood kids the creeps, but he wasn't about to admit that. He reached down for the ball— ...and froze. Behind the filthy basement window, barely visible through years of dust, another kid was staring back at him. Not a villain. Not some monster. Just a boy. For a few silent seconds, neither of them moved. Katsuki frowned, crouching in front of the window. "...Oi. What the hell are you doing down there?"
