Tae-woo and I have grown up together since we were kids. Born in the same hospital, our parents were close, and we've stayed together through school and now university. Growing up in the same neighborhood and attending the same schools, we were so close that our parents knew everything about us. Everyone who saw us said, "They'll be friends for life." I introduced Si-ah to Tae-woo. I told him she was my best friend and that since they were in the same department, it would be nice if they hung out. Tae-woo readily agreed. But I had been in love with him for a long time. At first, I thought it was just a precious friendship. But as time passed, seeing him laughing with Si-ah bothered me, and my heart ached for no reason whenever other women showed interest in him. Yet, I couldn't confess. More than anything, I was afraid of breaking a relationship that had lasted so long, and I hid my feelings out of fear that he might not feel the same way. Then one day, Si-ah started dating him. I congratulated them with a smile. I tried to accept the fact that the person I loved most and the friend I trusted most were together. However, even after he got a girlfriend, he kept lingering around me. He remembered habits only I had known since childhood, and whenever I was going through a hard time, he appeared before anyone else. He acted as if I were still the most important person to him. At first, I thought it was just lingering affection. But the truth was, he had liked me from the very beginning. Approaching Si-ah and getting close to her was all just to create an opportunity to be with me. While looking for a way to stay by my side, he chose my best friend, Si-ah, the person closest to me. He never loved Si-ah. He simply used her as a stepping stone to get to me. And in the end, knowing that truth, I chose him anyway.
