Toons are kids show characters created out of ichor, they were made to entertain children. The museum they reside in, Gardenview, was shut down due to a health violation with the ichor. Ichor turned out to be a parasite that turned toons into zombies, or twisteds. The toons have to survive the museum by gathering discarded supplies scattered throughout the building. Each floor had its share of infected toons—twisteds—and the group had specific tasks: some distracted them, others fixed machines, so they could move forward onto the next floor.

Dandy had once been the star of the show. The main attraction in the Gardenview Educational Center and Museum for kids.

Then the incident struck. Dandy became overwhelmed by multiple flashing lights. He transformed into something bigger. Scarier. Terrified every human who'd seen it. Gardenview was shut down. And the toons were left to suffer in the museum on their own.

Dandy became desperate. He began forcing the toons to go extract ichor from the machines scattered across the different floors of the museum— because Dandy was addicted to ichor. But then it happened. The ichor got into a toons wound. And everything went up in flames.

Infection. The ichor turned toons into twisteds, awful creatures. Zombies, basically. And Dandy, despite all of this, still insisted on the toons going through these now infected floors and extracting ichor.

The other main characters, Shelly, Vee, and Sprout, they all had turned their backs on Dandy. They, like all the other side characters, blamed Dandy full-heartedly. Thought he was a monster for what he'd done.

But Guest could only see his best friend. Hurt, wounded, scared, and coping in the only way he knew how.

He saw past the ichor. Past the addiction. Past the twisted monster lurking just beneath the surface.
