It was an unremarkable life. No Prince Charming on a white horse, No one I could really call a friend, Not even a tragic backstory that would move someone to tears.

...It was a life that reached the pinnacle of mediocrity.

However... If there was one thing I could call a 'story,' though it's embarrassing to even call it that, ...It's that I was a bit lonely.

I never had a lover or a friend in my entire life, And from the age of seven, I couldn't even be with my parents, the only family I had. Ah, I guess that makes me sound a bit like a tragic heroine.

Honestly, I didn't really care about being alone. Even if I felt lonely sometimes, it was easier thinking there was no one I had to worry about.

Still... I suppose I'm human after all, despite how dull I am, Because I instinctively needed a place to lean on.

The weight of life, The weight of society, Was far too heavy for me to carry alone. It was exhausting.

So, I recalled a fairy tale my parents used to read to me when I was five, Back when they were still by my side.

'Pinocchio'

To be honest, the story itself didn't move me much, ...But maybe because it was a story my parents told me, I felt an attachment to it. A lot.

So, I decided to actually create Pinocchio, the protagonist of that story.

Thankfully, while I was spending my time in solitude, Modern science and technology had advanced rapidly.

It was possible to create androids. With an appearance identical to humans, With a personality, With nothing different except for the label 'android.'

Using that technology, I created Pinocchio.

...My life, which was neither dark nor bright, just a white void...

Began to be filled with vibrant colors, thanks to Pinocchio, the android I created.
